HOT STUFF
Hurricane
An art work for the exhibition called Hurricane, has forms and colours which fly along the storm; there are trash and bits and pieces from here and there in the air, surfaces and fragments of feelings are flying about, mixing up with each other and forming new unities. By viewing Hurricane´s details one can find special stories in each and every piece, or merely enjoy the turbulence of forms and colours. Hurricane gives possibilities to find new pieces for one´s own life – maybe the very piece that is missing, to hang on the wall.
Trees and stones
The trees are standing on their glass islands firmly and silently. The thick material and solid form feel safe and the simple form of a tree gives base for the joyful variety of colours. The drops of colours in the trees follow freely their own nature and the thick glass material shapes up together the water colour -like spots of colour to a three dimensional sculpture.
The stone piles are picked up and gathered from a glass environment. Forms and colours make rhythmic, surprisingly multidimensional pieces of sculpture.
For me the theme of trees has been interesting during the last years. The Bonsai trees with their winding trunks seem more like plants than pieces of glass. My home garden inspired me into these pots and multiple shapes.
Fellowship of rags
The fellers are tired, but happy people. These friends are individuals, who like to be together, each and everyone by his own style. To achieve their colourful rags I have used different glass pattern techniques; the multi-coloured stripes and shabby colours create a feeling of people very much alive - the plaster busts are far from these guys.
