Kirsi Tervo: Touchable trace of painting, presence
Kirsi Tervo´s art - diptychs, triptychs and quadtychs are simultaneously based both on abstract colourism and observing the nature.
Paint and colour as means of material and expression are an endless object of interest to her. Her aim is to create artworks with such contents and atmosphere, that best can be expressed by paint and colour. One can sense a touchable trace of painting, the artist´s presence, on the peaceful cracked surfaces.
In her works one moves in space loaded with the past. Something once experienced has been painted visible, piece by piece. The colour surfaces of the paintings are like discoveries built layer by layer and ground by time.
The paintings are acrylic /mixed media works.
